The final part of the system....................
The speakers...........
P1000424

P1000417

P1000420

I needed some speakers to complete my thrift store Hi Fi, so this morning i wandered into the shop and preceded to have a gander at the rag tag collection of boxes on offer, after disgarding the magnavox and sears flimsy offerings my attention was instantly grabbed by these....

Early 1970's Celestion "County" 2 way speakers....Made in England no less !!!!

My mood was a bit spoiled by damage to one of the speakers....

P1000422

It looks like something on the top of the speaker maybe caught fire and was doused with copious amounts of water to put it out....hence the damage to the top,and the back (not shown)

Anyway these speakers are rare, and so i thought i would chance them.....if they were no good they could go in the trash.....

So i got them in, cut 2 pieces of speaker cable (picked that up in the shop as well with the speakers) and connected them to the Sony receiver ................

Perfect, well they sound perfect to me.......no blown drivers.....no rattles (i tightened the drivers up anyway) and they have been on for a few hours to loosen them up......sounding better all the time....

Oh and the price ? $2.......not bad i think a bit of work on the damaged one should bring it back to a decent condition......

So my Hi-Fi in all has cost $12 so far........

AWSOME Only $2 (Incert Holy crap lol)
It would seem from the photo made of real wood so you should me able
to lighty sand the damage and either alpy a new coat of stain and
varnish. And I alot of times will use just plain Old English oil
furniture polish the one with the stain in it to cover up scratches.
All in all you had a good week. Looks to be an awsome stero system
and as I total this up all for under $20 That is just so cool. Let
me know when you have a party Hee Hee. We will break that baby in
Hugs.

Yes for sure (I should hang out with you I could save a Ton of $$$$$$$
They will be beuityful when redone. They don't make them like that
anymore. Today most all speakers are made to look like wood or made of
plastic. The 70s they made quality and stuff to last. (HUG)

I don't get it: "And she feeds me love and tenderness and macaroons".

Is that some sort of reference to scat-play?

I could just murder some real macaroons. Do we have any coconut in the cupboard? I'm pretty sure we have butter and oatmeal and cocoa...
